What goes into the price of a DAS?
Cost components of DAS budget.
At a high level we are looking for a cost or budget for materials and services.
We must purchase 2 types of materials:
Electronics or active materials.
Infrastructure or passive materials.
When it comes to services, we have to pay for the following:
Survey & engineering – which includes benchmark data collection
Construction
Commissioning, Integration and turn-up
Cost components of DAS
Note that I kept Close-out package & maintenance out of this list. Although preparing close-out package a very important service, you don’t usually need to hire a separate vendor for this.
Maintenance cost is incurred after building the DAS, and, in most cases, it will go into operational expense.
You may decide to do the project management yourself, or hire someone to do it. You can further divide the project management piece into field project management and overall project management – that depends on the size of the project.
Components of Services and Materials needed for building DAS
You can just hire a good DAS Integrator to do all the services,
OR you can break it up and have different vendors take care of different pieces of scope of work. If managed properly this is the more economical way to do it.
